The Lost Child / Tumshangilie Mtoto / 2022 Edition

Tumshangilieni Mtoto was founded in 1994 by the late Actress Ann Wanjungu with an aim of using performing arts as a tool to change the attitude and practices of children living on the street as well as negative perception society held towards these children. This piece is an introduction to their upcoming production THE LOST CHILD.

This is a dance production celebrating an Africa Child and the choreography entails a combination of contemporary dance fused with Africa contemporary, Acrobatics and Brass Band. The piece mainly focused on experimenting movement design in terms of telling the story and struggles the children have faced. Performers were able to experiment body language in relation to the subject and the intention is to share the stories and progression of these children and supporting the movement of Violence Against Children.
